Last Saturday, Strawn High School students competed at the Regional UIL Academic Meet. The Science team placed 3rd overall, and Julia Fernandez placed 3rd overall as an individual and 1st place in Chemistry! Julia will be competing at the State Meet in Austin on Tuesday, May 14th!


Book Fair will be open May 6th - 10th, from 7:15am - 4:15pm each day!
Parents can set up e-wallets for their students if they do not want to carry cash.

In addition to our Makerspace, where students can create, the Strawn ISD Summer Library Program will now have a Breakerspace where students will learn to use different tools to take apart technology and identify the various components.
Mrs. Ellis is currently collecting technology donations for the new Breakerspace. Any old or nonfunctional technology, such as VHS/DVD players, laptops/PCs, telephones, headphones, etc, is greatly appreciated!

Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration will be this Thursday, April 18th, from 1pm - 4pm in the school cafeteria. Registration is for new students only! Currently enrolled students do not need to re-register.


Strawn OAP will be performing at the Area Competition in Stephenville tomorrow, April 13th! Come out and support our OAP students!

The Strawn Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Strawn ISD to award two outstanding students each six-week period. These students must have perfect attendance and show commitment with good grades. Teachers have submitted the names of a student from elementary and secondary who have demonstrated excellent Citizenship. Students who have best met these criteria are chosen from the lower grades (K-5) and upper grades (6-12).
The Strawn Area Chamber, along with Strawn ISD, is proud to announce the two outstanding students for the fourth 6-week period (ending February 16th):
Congratulations, Gunner Parsons and Nic Lynn! Both had perfect attendance and excel in their classes. Gunner and Nic were presented their awards by Chamber Board Member Tommy Lackey.


The Junior class will be selling breakfast tacos to raise money for prom! Orders can be placed through Coach Moore or Mr. Foust until noon on Wednesday, April 10th. Pick up will be Friday, April 12th in front of the gym before school.
Breakfast tacos will be $5 each, with a choice of sausage or bacon, potato, egg, and cheese. Donations are also accepted.


Strawn OAP will be doing a community performance at Breckenridge High School tomorrow, March 27th, at 7pm. Come out and support our OAP students!
Admission to this performance is free!


The Scholastic Book Fair will be at the Strawn ISD Library May 6th - 10th! Parents & Community Members, if you are able to volunteer to work the register from 10:15 -11:45 am, please contact Mrs. Ellis at cassie.ellis@strawnschool.net or (254) 672-5776. Yesterday, 1st and 2nd grade students kicked off Read Across America Week by “buddying up with reading” and enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss books with their favorite stuffed animals!
