We are still collecting items for 4th & 5th Grades' service project. These items will be delivered to Amy May, who will deliver the care packets to the homeless. Please hold on to these items for now. We will communicate next steps when we know more. Thank you for your generosity!

Our amazing Cafeteria Staff were able to prepare and distribute 36 meals to our community yesterday, March 30th, and they are hoping to serve even more in the future!

School offices and campuses will remain closed during this extension. Leaders in each respective district will continue to monitor recommendations from health and safety officials and announcements from state and federal elected officials in order to determine an appropriate date for return to school. Once a return-to-school date is selected, school officials from each ISD will alert their communities with ample notice through their usual channels of communication.
Please continue to watch our school Facebook Page and Website for more information. https://www.strawnschool.net/o/strawn-isd/page/coronavirus-covid-19-updates--10

Thank you to all who made our switch to online/at-home learning a smooth transition! Strawn ISD Administration and School Board have worked tirelessly with government officials and other districts' administration to give our students their best opportunity for success. Our technology director set up each student with his/her own google account and prepared Chromebooks for distribution. Newcastle ISD provided our district with 25 additional Chromebooks and around 60 cases, allowing us to send a Chromebook home with every one of our students. NISD's technology director shared information and tips on digital resources such as Google Classroom and Zoom Meetings. Our teachers have changed their teaching styles to accommodate our students home learning environments, provided packets to those without internet access, and have made themselves available through online live streams, text, call, and e-mail to answer any question students and parents might encounter. Our students' parents have worked with us to complete surveys, pick up materials, and provide the best at-home learning they can. We truly appreciate every single one of you and your contributions during this time. Our community is full of wonderful people who come together for our children. It's a great time to be a Greyhound!
