Strawn ISD students will have no school on Friday, February 12, due to a Teacher Workday. Also, Strawn ISD will be closed Monday, February 15, in observance of President's Day.
It's that time again! Talk to Ms. Gray to sign up for High School UIL Academics! The UIL contests will be virtual this year, held in March. Practices will begin soon, so don't miss your opportunity to participate!
Academic competition builds confidence and skills, is good to put on college applications, and is a great way to further represent our school. If a student advances to state, they may apply for TILF scholarships.
UIL Academics centers around real-life knowledge and skills. Some events include:
Calculator Applications, Number Sense, Mathematics
Science (biology, chemistry, physics)
Journalism--Editorial, Feature, News, and Headline Writing
Copy Editing
Spelling & Vocab.
Ready Writing (essays)

Happy Groundhog Day!
First grade enjoyed a special groundhog treat after learning that Punxsutawney Phil has predicted 6 more weeks of winter.
We have the results from the Palo Pinto County Virtual Fair, and we are proud to say all of our participants placed and represented the Strawn Community well! Congratulations, everyone!
