Today our students enjoyed the beautiful weather with an ice cream thanks to the Strawn ISD Board of Trustees! The School Board purchased ice cream for every student, grades PreK - 12. Thank you so much for your generosity!

Financial Aid Night for Seniors and Parents
Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 at 5:00 in HS Computer Lab
Representatives from Weatherford College Financial Aid will be on campus to explain and discuss financial aid options as well as help parents and seniors submit FAFSA forms for the 2023-2024 school year. Students and parents must have set up their FSA ID to submit. Parents, please visit studentaid.gov to create your account. FSA IDs can take up to 3 days to process, please have your account created before Thursday if you would like to submit that evening. Parents will also need to have filed 2021 taxes and have that information on hand.
SCHEDULE CHANGE:
There has been a schedule change to the Valentine’s Dance. It will still be Monday, February 13th but the time has changed to 5-6:30 p.m. I’m very sorry for the late notice. The dance is also come and go so you can arrive and leave anytime during that period.
Price of admission is $5 and there will also be raffles and glow sticks for sale so please send cash if your student is interested. Thank you so much for your understanding and I hope to see all these sweet kids at the dance.

Join us in wishing our junior high students good luck as they compete in their various UIL Academic contests today and tomorrow!
The Greyhound Yearbook Class has 10 Ad Spaces available! These are the size of a standard business card. You can submit a card you already have on hand, or our yearbook staff can create an ad for you! Our yearbook staff will soon be hand delivering and mailing out letters with all the information. If you are interested in advertising with our 2022 - 2023 Greyhound Yearbook, please contact Mrs. Ellis! (254) 672-5776. Again, we only have 10 ads available; don't miss out! Thank you for supporting our students and their growing design & marketing skills!

Next Monday, February 13th, is the Valentine Dance for PreK - 5th Grade in the cafeteria from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Tickets are $5 each.

Lady Hounds 2023 softball schedule
Don't forget! Tonight is Senior Night! We'll be honoring our Senior basketball players between games this evening!
Due to the icy conditions of roadways, our delivery trucks were unable to make it this week. Adjustments to our cafeteria menu have been made.
Thank you to our wonderful Child Nutrition Manager, Maria Berumen, for keeping us informed and communicating with all the vendors this week. We appreciate your commitment & the thought you give to serving our students!
Strawn ISD will be closed on Friday, February 3, 2023. We continue to be concerned about students, staff, and buses traveling safely on roads that have iced over tomorrow morning given the current precipitation and temperatures dropping overnight.
With temperatures forecasted to rise above freezing late afternoon tomorrow, we expect extracurricular contests will continue as scheduled on Friday afternoon and evening. The Strawn Coaching Staff will communicate further information with parents and student athletes.
